Jon Haylett
Jon was born in east Africa and has travelled and worked in north, central and southern Africa and the Caribbean, their vivid landscapes providing the inspiration for his writing. After thirty challenging years teaching secondary school pupils, he withdrew to a remote peninsula in Northwest Scotland in order to write, producing winning entries to two major international short story competitions, the 2003 Bridport Price and the 2005 Royal Society of Literature’s VS Prichett Prize. |
